Tsunavi creates nautical inspired watches that feature chart and diver style dials. Our name comes from the combination of two words Tsunami + Navigation. These two words represent the dichotomy of the human relationship with the ocean. Its power is immense and can overwhelm, but we study the seas and are able to live, work, and play on them. The nautical life is always a balance of this chaos and order. The chart watches further embody this theme displaying idyllic representations of potentially turbulent navigable waters upon a steadily ticking machine.
The fish silhouette is a red drum with an ö representing the characteristic spot on near the caudal peduncle. Designer Erik Oberg studied the red drum completing his graduate work in Marine Science and the traditional spelling of his family name is with the umlaut (ö). |
